Are you making plans at the moment? It’s hard, with the possibility of further race cancellations and postponements, to think about what the future might hold.

But it could be a very bad idea to wait until you’re sure.

Take Reading Half Marathon, for instance. Usually, at this point in the year, I’d have a heap of runners taking advantage of our Sunday outruns, preparing themselves for the miles ahead. This year is different, but the race is still in the calendar. Should my runners wait until we can run together to start their training? Absolutely not! Will they want to train alone? Quite possibly not, but waiting will not help in the long-run (excuse the pun!).

Running training requires patience, hard work and keeping your eyes on the overall goal. Waiting to start could all end in tears.
