What was the last truly new thing you learned to do? Drive a car? Scuba dive? Bake cakes?

Whatever it was, you’ll remember having to practise before it got easier. By now, you might not even think about that skill at all; it might be completely second-nature, even boring or mundane.

I feel a little bit like that’s where we are with Covid restrictions. In Spring 2020, we were at the start of our learning; it was new and different. Now we’ve got used to it, it feels boring (yet no easier, that’s for sure!). I know I’ve let myself get into different habits, some of which aren’t necessarily doing me any good.

I wonder if I’ll be able to get out of them when the restrictions are lifted or if I’ll have to practise all over again?
