I have a great toolbox.
Amongst other things, there is an exceptional array of screws which weren’t quite up to the job, a host of IKEA Allen Keys and, of course, the trusty Iffindow*.
The box, as you might be able to see from the picture, is a Fortnum & Mason gift box, which once contained some very fancy presents from my sister. It’s a bit worse for wear these days, but serves its repurpose excellently.
It’s good to have the right tool for the job and to know where to look when something needs fixing. It’s also a great strength to be able to call for an expert when the job’s beyond our mortal skills.
I was thinking about the same idea recently, in a completely different context.
If I’m feeling unwell, I do the things I know might work (some fresh air, a drink of water, a nap); if they don’t work, I might try something from the medicine cabinet (ibuprofen, antacid – actually, that’s all I’ve got!); if that doesn’t work, then it might be time to consult a professional.
What’s your toolbox go-to?
*If in doubt, hit it with a hammer.
